Ok, so this picture is old and new. Chun-Li is from 2008. My friend Donald wanted me to draw him a picture of Chun-Li like in the opening of one of the Street Fighter Alpha games (I forget at the moment which game this pose is from) but wearing her traditional outfit. The original picture actually was a full body shot, but after I painted this new background (based of a photo of the Great Wall, as I’ve never been to China) I realized her feet didn’t line up with the steps. Anyway, the background was painted this year (2011) and took approximately 8 hours and 34 minutes (over the course of 2 days) in Painter X on an old Wacom tablet.
I don’t have the original PSD file for Chun-Li, or the original line art as Donald has it now so separating her from the original gradient background she was on was a bit of a challenge.
